There has to be a sane way to get fit

I’ve read all sorts of diet books and tried all sorts of programs. But none of them seem to work for me long term. I’m starting this in order to chronicle my exploration of becoming fit in a sane and logical manner. I think the diet industry is a booming one and there are some success stories out there. But why is it most people fail? Why can’t people lose weight and keep it off?
