I really like what this person had to say about their personal experience of dealing with their body clock and getting up in the morning. This scientist won a Nobel Prize?

Posted by Admin :: Mar 31'st

I’m really on the fence when it comes to Johannes Andreas Grib Fibiger. In 1926, he won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. The Danish scientist claimed he had discovered an organism that he named Spiroptera carcinoma and he asserted that rats developed cancer by eating roaches that were infested with this organism.

On one hand, he turned out to be dead wrong about the organism because it actually turned out to be a worm or nematode. However, his research showed that damaged cells formed tumors because of stimulation by worms. He showed that outer causes such as infections can cause cancer. Too bad more scientists aren’t doing more research along these lines.

smoking and brain scans

Posted by Admin :: Mar 29'th

I feel sympathy for those that are trying to quit smoking, and this study provides a unique glimpse into the brain of a smoker. It shows the regions of the brain that can play important roles in some of the key reasons for smoking: to achieve pleasure, to aid in concentration and to be able to calm down during stress.
Hopefully, if science can decode the brain’s responses to nicotine cravings, then they may be able to develop more effective smoking cessation treatments. Personally, I’ve known a lot of smokers and most of them seem desperate to quit. If they are better equipped to deal with withdrawal, then smokers may be able to succeed at giving up cigarettes for good.

Colorado Health Insurance

Posted by Admin :: Mar 29'th

I once read a book about a miner that lived in Colorado during the 1800s. He had originally moved to Leadville because the doctors told him that the rarefied air would help his tuberculosis. He lived in a tent, summer and winter, and believed that the brisk air caused his total recovery. He eventually recuperated and went on to work for mining mogul Horace Tabor.

Thankfully, today’s citizens of Colorado don’t have to rely on the whims of the local weather in order to have good health. Nowadays, affordable Colorado Health Insurance is available to all. SecureInsuranceQuotes.com can quickly provide health insurance quotes so that you can find the plan that best suits your needs.

Thanks to SecureInsuranceQuotes.com you can have the health insurance you need. You can get proper medical care, instead of thinking that sleeping in a tent will cure your ills.

Cognitive Therapy, better than medication?

Posted by Admin :: Mar 28'th

This site takes a look at studies that have examined the effects that different types of treatments have on the human brain. According to researchers, antidepressants reduce emotions, while Cognitive Behavior Therapy helps people to process their emotions in a healthier manner. They found that those taking depression medication have a much higher relapse rate if they go off their meds because they are flooded with negative emotions. But Cognitive Behavior Therapy gives people the coping skills they need to deal with their feelings more effectively and thus, CBT may offer much more benefits in the long term.
