Pingo rates are something to call home about

Posted by Admin :: Jun 30'th

Nowadays, many families don’t live in the same geographic area, let alone the same time zone. The cheap calling cards offered by Pingo are a great way for you to stay in touch with your friends and family, no matter what part of the world they’re in. Let’s face it, emails are convenient, but they are no substitute for hearing the voice and the laughter of a loved one that is far away.

When you sign up with Pingo, they give you up to 4 free hours of international calls. They don’t have any hidden fees and they don’t slip you unwanted surprises either. Right now, you can even put extra money in your pocket, thanks to Pingo. They’re also working with Qoof.com and Pingo will pay $5 to each of the first 250 Pingo usermercial videos posted at Qoof.

If you’re looking for some long term extra pocket money, Pingo also has a calling card affiliate program that pays $15 for each new customer you refer. Pingo allows you to stay in touch with anyone you want, and you can make money as well.

Whether you’re looking for a Discount Long Distance Card, a cheap prepaid phone card, or International Prepaid Phone Cards, make sure you check out everything that Pingo has to offer and find out why it’s called the “Pingo Phonecard Advantage”.

Running on Organic Fuel

Posted by Admin :: Jun 30'th

EDITED TO ADD: THIS JOKE APPEARS TO BE FROM xkcd.com Sorry for any confusion

My daughter just told me that engines can burn vegetable oil. When I asked her to clarify she said that they can burn most any organic matter… corns, leaves, spices. When I asked her to prove that spices were a viable alternative, she said that everyone knows you can use spices. After all, Mussolini made the trains run on thyme.

Don’t blame me for this, I heard it straight from my daughter.

:-D

Helping a Family Member

Posted by Admin :: Jun 30'th

I found out that one of my young relatives struggles a lot in school. It is so difficult for her that she makes up all sorts of ‘illnesses’ to stay home and has even shown a bit of outright resistance.

I think she could get some help from an Innovative Tutor at the Score Learning Center that’s closest to my home. She could stay with us for awhile, I wouldn’t mind being a substitute parent in this instance. She’s younger than my own kids, but she should fit right in and I think we’d all get along just fine. I’ve read a lot of good things about Score online, so maybe this is what she needs in order to start succeeding in school.

Why I never buy cut melons or fruit in the store

Posted by Admin :: Jun 30'th

We love all sorts of melons and fruits, but I never buy the cut sections, even if they’re securely wrapped. Many people don’t know that the outer skin of melons can harbor all sorts of dangers, like salmonella. If you cut through the melon without thoroughly washing it first, then the knife spreads all that contamination throughout the melon.

My local stores are very clean, but I don’t know how thoroughly they scrub fruit before cutting it or chopping it. In order to be safer, I prefer to do all my fruit chopping and cutting at home, after the fruit’s been totally cleaned and washed.

Planning a Getaway? Think Dominican Republic

If you’re considering a holiday or vacation, you owe it to yourself to investigate the cheap holidays to the Dominican Republic offered at Holiday Hypermarket. It’s a terrific place to find Package Holidays that are affordable as well as economical flights to destinations all over the world, including the Caribbean.

Your holiday time may be the only time you get to relax and refresh. So why not spend your time on a white sandy beach while palm trees sway in the balmy ocean breezes? You may want to just sit and watch the azure colored waves roll in while you sip an exotic fruit drink. Or you may want to have some fun while enjoying the water sports facilities available in the area.

Don’t be afraid to try new foods and flavors

Posted by Admin :: Jun 30'th

I probably should’ve just edited my prior post about online shopping, but then again, maybe this deserves its own post:

Last week, I got some salt and pepper rice cakes. I like rice cakes, but I’d never tried this flavor. I opened them up, and thought they were perfectly dreadful, lol! However, my son and my daughter really enjoyed them, and neither of them are big fans of rice cakes. So I guess the point is that even if I didn’t like them, at least I found out what they taste like, plus my kids really like them. So don’t be afraid to experiment a bit with new foods.

It’s 3 a.m. and I’m doing my grocery shopping

Posted by Admin :: Jun 30'th

I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to get on the computer for awhile. I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I love having my groceries delivered. My local store is Safeway, but I know they’re affiliated with other national stores such as Vons, Dominicks, and Tom Thumb.

I think my favorite part about shopping from home is that I don’t do any impulse buying when I order online. No more getting home and wondering why I decided to buy a particular item just because it looked good in the store. I can also take a look at the sale items and take my time deciding whether or not I want to purchase them. Right now, I just noticed that Boca Burgers are on sale, so I may just get some of those to have on the Fourth. I just added several varieties to my cart, then I can make my final decision on them before I check out.

Sharing info just got a lot easier

Posted by Admin :: Jun 28'th

I share a lot of files with my daughter. As a matter of fact, I email my daughter a lot of data, even though she lives with me. My daughter does most of the work on my web sites. I usually create content, send it to her and she implements it. Until now, email has been the fastest and easiest way for us to share information.

I just discovered Driveway - Online File Sharing and it looks like the perfect solution to our situation. Driveway allows users to share large files by creating links to files of sizes up to 500MB! Their links can even be posted in blogs, allowing bloggers to share files among each other.

I think my daughter is going to be really excited that I found Driveway. Now, when I want to make changes on one of my sites, I don’t have to email it to her bit by bit. I can do it all at once, thanks to Driveway.

Taking fish oil?

Posted by Admin :: Jun 28'th

I was just reading an article at Prevention that has hints about taking fish oil capsules. It’s a good, short read, and it inspired me to share my own fish oil hint:

I take fish oil every day, but it never makes me burp. That’s because I take it in the middle of a snack, instead of before or after. For example, I’ll decide to eat an orange, so I eat half of it, take the oily pills, then finish the orange. This also works for me for taking other oils like garlic and flax oils, but your mileage may vary.

Online relationships

Posted by Admin :: Jun 28'th

I have never joined an online dating community. I’m not opposed to them, I just never felt like I had the time to devote to finding someone, building a relationship, etc, etc. However, I have inadvertently managed to make some great online friends throughout the years. I’ve also had my share of disastrous online relationships as well.

For example, there was a guy in Florida that seemed to be crazy about me. I wanted to keep the relationship as friends, till we got to know each other, but he started talking about moving to my state right away. Warning signals started going off in my head when I read that email from him. I answered him, something to the effect that we needed to slow things down to a crawl. He replied rather quickly, but he accidentally replied using his wife’s email account. She worked for him at their family owned business, and the reply address on his email had her name on it. I was done with him rather quickly, and to this day, I’m glad the internet helped me to screen him out of my life without too much fuss.

Lately, I have considered looking online for a relationship. Oh, nothing serious, but a backgammon or bowling buddy would be nice. I just looked at FriendFinder and their site seems very easy to use. I created a free account and I really like how easy it is to search according to zip code. If I decide to go ahead and start a relationship, I don’t want to end up talking to someone in Florida, I’d rather get to know someone that lives much closer.
