Pepto Bismol Safe for Your Dog, DEADLY for Your Cat
NEVER give Pepto Bismol to your cat (generic name Bismuth Subsalicylate). I am a big fan of Pepto-Bismol for humans and dogs, but the ingredients in Bismuth Subsalicylate can kill your cat. PetEducation.com says “Bismuth subsalicylate should NOT be given to cats except under direct supervision by your veterinarian. ” So never EVER use it to treat your cat on your own.
I think that Pepto is one of the best OTC products available, and it has been very helpful for me, as well as my dog. So don’t worry about using it for yourself, just never administer it to your cat.
